1956 | October | Medical Corporation Kyouwakai, Hannan Hospital is founded with 144 beds and 55 members of staff. |
1978 | Social workers are stationed. | |
1981 | Open-door policy of the hospital wards is implemented. | |
The daycare center, the 2nd in Osaka Prefecture, is completed. | ||
1985 | Meets the facility criteria for psychiatric occupational therapy. | |
Meets the facility criteria as a psychiatric daycare center. | ||
1992 | The Healthcare Consultation Office (now Medical & Welfare Consultation Unit) is established. | |
1995 | Meets the facility criteria of Group Homes Aozora. | |
1997 | April | The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Rehabilitation Unit, Ward E equipped with the functions of Kansai's first mental care unit are opened. |
September | The new nurses system is introduced: Nurse to patient ratio 3.5:1 (achieving Nursing Standards B), nursing aid to patient ratio 15:1. | |
1998 | April | The new nurses system is introduced: Nurse to patient ratio 3:1 (Nursing Standards B). |
May | Ward F containing Outpatient Consultation, offices, central cafeteria, Psychiatric Care Unit (2nd & 3rd floors) is opened. | |
1999 | May | The Rehabilitation Center (Ward G) which integrates daycare and occupational therapy is opened. |
2000 | February | Receives approval as the home nursing support center, Hannan Hospital. |
March | Receives approval for the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (Ward E1) | |
December | Receives approval to expand the daycare unit to care for 70 patients. | |
2001 | February | Greening of the hospital grounds and a large scale renovation of the former Wards B, C and D are promoted. |
December | The Group Home Komorebi opens. | |
2002 | October | Home Visit Nurses Station Fureai opens. |
2003 | April | Community Life Support Center Yui opens. |
May | The 2nd Daycare Center opens. | |
2004 | June | The present Director, Dr. Kenji Kuroda takes his position. |

March | 7 specialist outpatient departments (Sleep Disorders, Mental Care, Outpatient Women, Addictions, Memory Loss, Home Visits, Oral-pharynx Psychosomatic Disease) begin operation. | |

Jikei Medical Corporation Medical Foundation (operates three hospitals) from South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea visits the hospital. | ||
