What is a clinical trial?

For a trial-drug to be used to treat patients, it must be approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. In order for a trial-drug to be approved, its effects and side effects must be studied on healthy people and patients. This study is called a Clinical Trial and the drug used in a trial is called an Investigational New Drug.

Held on the 3rd Friday of the month (subject to adjustment if the 3rd Friday falls on a national holiday)
