After working for Japan Airlines, studied textile design, weaving and dying in Sweden.
Returned to Japan in 1979 and worked as a freelance designer in TV, radio, women's magazines, newspaper and advertising, designed costumes for the theater and also engaged in interior design.
Has published many books of essays and portfolios.
Has shown work in public including solo shows in Sweden.
In 1994, registered as a member of Arts in Hospital - UNESCO's 10th world anniversary project – and participated in international conferences in Berlin, Oslo, Vienna, Paris and Stockholm with an aid of the Swedish team.
Has introduced the first Arts in Hospital Project in Japan at Kameda General Hospital in Kamogawa-shi, Chiba Prefecture, and has also provided her own unique spatial environment art based on the basic concept of the project to various establishments.
Example: production of art as a tool for healthcare in hospitals, clinics, healthcare facilities, gardens, hotel shops, youth centers and sports centers, and new initiatives for architectural design and spatial environment design.
